Weco Systems International Limited in collaboration with Business Connexion (formerly Comparex Africa) has delivered successfuly the building of the network infrastructure for Cyberspace Network Limited, one of Nigeria's largest network service providers.

The network back bone provides fixed wireless access (FWA) services to millions of customers and corporate bodies in need of high speed data network and internet access. This high speed and relatively low cost network service works by creating a wireless network that operates in a tight radio frequency spectrum in the microwave range. The network operates on a 3.5GHz dedicated and regulated frequency band.

During the first phase of the project, Weco systems and her partner established a core switched network based on Cisco technology. This was achieved by placing base stations at strategic locations to cover the whole of Lagos state. These base stations were interlinked to create a wireless loop which made several kinds of broadband services available to corporate organizations. Some of these services include high speed internet access, secure virtual private network (VPN), backhaul services for VSAT providers and wide area corporate data networks.

The second phase of the project will concentrate on expanding the FWA network and bringing voice capability to the entire infrastructure.

This is a mile stone achievement and a reference point for Weco systems in the fixed wireless access market.
